Jason Bright – Coach/Owner
All my life I have had a hunger for competition and a passion for driving others to reach their goals. As a college athlete, that hunger was satisfied on the football field.
After graduation, I wanted to build a gym where other like-minded people could come and train their minds and bodies in order to push themselves to reach their desired goals. Although I had a vision for a gym, I could not find a way to marry both my desire to coach and my hunger to compete at a high level. I spent years playing in different adult football and basketball leagues searching for something that would fulfill my desire.
When I was first introduced to CrossFit, I really was not sure if the workouts could give me the same gut wrenching feeling as I had in the locker room before my Saturday football games. I decided to give it a try for a few days and after the first workout I found myself lying on my back staring towards the sky trying desperately to breath. While lying there, I could not help but wonder what the physical results would have been had my team mates and I received this type of training while playing football. The positive encouragement I received during that workout, as well as after, became something that I wanted to recreate for other people searching for a gym far from normal to achieve their fitness goals. Every since that day I have wanted to open a CrossFit box.
When I am training members I can’t help but to get even more excited than they do when they PR or give 100% in a workout. My training style is intense and it comes from a place of total enthusiasm for the athlete that I am training because I know that they are receiving nothing less then the best type of training they can get. CrossFit keeps our minds and bodies ready for the unexpected things in life, and at CrossFit Northlake we will have fun seeing each other reach new heights.
